  • Groundnut basin

    The Senegal groundnut basin is characterized by tropical ferruginous soils that enable agricultural production primarily centring on dry cereals (millet) and legumes (groundnut, cowpea). High anthropic pressure on resources, resulting in biodiversity erosion.

  • Niayes

    The Niayes zone, a coastal strip that runs from Dakar to Saint Louis (180 km long) has biophysical characteristics that favour market gardening. It alone provides almost 80% of the fresh vegetables grown in the country.
