Mango production in western Senegal

Most of the mangoes produced in Senegal, around 100 000 t, come from a zone around Thiès and the southern Niayes.
It is in this zone that mangoes are grown for export to Europe (8000 t). Work is currently under way on fruit fly control and intrinsic improvements in fruit quality.
