Relations between fruit-based agro-ecosystem functioning and ants (Hymenoptera : Formicidae). Impacts on fruit fly (Diptera : Tephritidae) development

As part of a collaboration between ISRA and CIRAD, a thesis was defended at Cheikh Anta Diop University (Dakar – Senegal) on 12 February 2016.

Lamine Diamé presented and defended a thesis on the relations between fruit-based agro-ecosystem functioning and ants (Hymenoptera : Formicidae). Impacts on fruit fly (Diptera : Tephritidae) development.

He was awarded a PhD from the University of Dakar (with distinction and highly commended).

The thesis was directed by Prof. Karamoko Diarra of the University of Dakar. Drs Jean-Yves Rey and Jean-François Vayssières, supervisors from UR HortSys, were the examiners. Drs Isabelle Grechi (HortSys) and Rumsaïs Blatrix (CEFE/CNRS, Montpellier) were co-supervisors.
